The engine has been upgraded and you get 1340 cc engine instead of the 1290 cc engine which is present in 2007 model. The connecting rod and pistons have been changed. The crankshaft has been changed which has resulted in improved oiling. The titanium valves placed on the lighter single valve springs help in reducing the reciprocating mass. The fuel delivery system has been improved with the introduction of new double barrel SDTV throttle.

The four pistons Dual Tokico calipers are highly appreciated upgrades because of its improved capability of slowing down the mean machine. The brake disk size has also been reduced to quicken the steering movement. Also the design team has worked extremely hard to maintain the original look yet make Hayabusa look as iconic as possible.

The removal of extraneous brackets has helped in reducing the frame weight. The sub-frames are comparatively much stronger. The seat height has also been reduced by reducing the height of badonkadonk (proof rectangular steel rails). The cockpit of Hayabusa is more spacious with the addition of 0.7 inch of legroom and a half an inch longer reach to the bars. The height of the wind screen has been increased by 0.6 inches making your ride more comfortable.

When the design team from Suzuki started designing the Hayabusa, little did they realize that they were in the process of creating the fastest bike in the world. In fact, the design of Suzuki Hayabusa was meant to be ugly and if you don’t believe us you must go through the interview of Koji Yoshiura the creator of Suzuki Hayabusa. In the latest issue of motorcycle news the Koji states that they wanted to create an ugly design so people can remember it easily. They wanted people to try out the Hayabusa and analyse its performance, speed, features and acceleration. They had no idea that they were creating the fastest production motorbike of the world. The object of the designers was to create a bike which will create an impression in the minds of the people and will never be outdated.

You can read the full interview of Koji Yoshiura in the December edition of Motorcycle news.

Before you change your engine oil you must ensure that the engine is warm when replacing the oil.
Here is how you can change the engine oil of your Hayabusa
a) Keep your Hayabusa in an upright position
b) Now place an oil pan just below the engine and drain the oil in the engine by removing the filler cap and oil drain plug.
c) Once you have removed the oil pour fresh oil through the oil filter.
d) Now the start the Hayabusa and allow it run for a few minutes at idling speed.
e) After about three minutes spot the engine and check the oil level with the help of inspection window. If the level indicated is below the mark “L” then you need to pour oil up to the “F” level. However, if the oil level exceeds “F” then drain oil till it reaches “F” level.

To check the maximum speed of sixth gear I could not afford the premium of the guy who was testing the Hayabusa. So if any of you guys have tested the top speed of the 6th gear pls. Let me know.
The top speed which has been tested is about 200 miles per hour or about 300 kilometres per hour. The bike takes just 3 seconds to reach the speed of 100 kilometres per hour. This is quite fast when compare to bikes like the Blackbird, GSX – R and ZZ- R1100.
